Long-Lasting Performance and Uncompromising Durability: Special Gas Venting
Special gas venting is designed to exhaust natural gas or propane for today’s high-efficiency appliances. Adequate and leak-free venting of gas appliances is critical to prevent harmful exposure to carbon monoxide and fire hazards.
Every special gas venting project is different, but the most successful have the same thing in common—they are backed by the certainty of Schebler.
Long-time Schebler customers have come to expect certainty. That’s because, at Schebler, design and install systems are driven by our customers’ specific needs. Each is built with products that are guaranteed to perform as promised and backed by our industry-leading support, including a 3-year leak-free guarantee.
Special Gas Venting for Peak Efficiency, Productivity and Safety
With energy costs consistently rising and climate control worries spreading, high-efficiency appliances are more in demand than ever. This is especially true in commercial buildings, as they are responsible for 40% of the total energy use in the U.S., including 75% of all electricity use and 35% of the nation’s carbon emissions, according to the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL).
But while today’s high-efficiency appliances are critical to your operations, they also produce gallons of corrosive condensation and low-temperature exhaust. The safe and efficient venting of these toxic gases is vital to the health and productivity of those living or working inside them. To emphasize that point, the National Library of Medicine reported that poor indoor air quality in buildings decreases productivity “beyond reasonable doubt” by as high as 9%. Likewise, a study by the Royal Academy of Engineering (the United Kingdom’s National Academy of Engineering) showed that improving ventilation could reduce long-range aerosol transmission of diseases “by about 50%.”
At Schebler, our special gas venting systems remove these gases safely, without leaking. It starts with our exhaustive pre-design work, including pressure drop calculations, and continues through our high-tech prefabrication production process.
With Schebler factory-built special gas venting systems, you get:
- Superior Quality Control
- Faster and Easier Installation
- Leak-Free Guarantee
- UL 1738 Listed Protection
- Versatility—Labeled for Positive, Neutral and Negative Operations
- Durability—Constructed from AL 29-4C or 316L Stainless Steel
The Certainty of Prefabrication
While building managers can use field-welded or prefabricated special gas venting assemblies, the latter has become the standard due to its considerable time savings and cost-effective safety in handling high temperatures and exhaust gas pressures. By producing and building our products in our U.S. factory, Schebler delivers prefabricated systems supported by the added certainty of highly engineered and controlled manufacturing, delivering reliable, top-performing products every time.
Compare this approach to field-fabricated special gas venting system assemblies, which are typically made from sections of Schedule 40 carbon steel pipe, welded in the field, and then insulated. This complicates installation and does not provide the quality control inherent in Schebler’s supervised factory environment.
Each Schebler special gas venting system is tested and proven for reliability and durability. Schebler offers two system options.
These popular venting systems provide exceptional corrosion resistance and are ideal for venting high-efficiency appliances that require a positive, neutral or negative draft exhaust.
Designed for high-efficiency appliances, these fully engineered venting systems guarantee maximum efficiency while also making installation more efficient, lowering energy consumption and increasing boiler life.
